-
BABY
NAME - Take the baby's
name and put at the top of a piece of paper. Make copies
and give one to every guest. Give the guests a minute or
to to make as many words out of the baby's name as they
can.
-
PUDDING
GAME - This game is the
best baby shower game ever! Before the baby shower, buy
those already made pudding cups for each person playing
the game or whom you think would play this game. Before
you start the game, pair up couples across of each
other, blind fold them, and put a trash bag over them so
their clothes won't get dirty. Start the timer for 30
seconds or how ever long you prefer, and as soon as you
say "GO", each couple will have to feed each
other as fast as they can. The couple who finishes their
pudding first wins!!
-
EMPTY
THE BOTTLE - This is game is really more fun to
watch when its just for the guys, for those of you
having a shower where everyone is invited! Fill as many
4 oz. (or smaller) baby bottles as you will need with
water or juice (something they won't mind drinking), one
for each male at the shower...fill the bottles equally
so its fair for all! Time the fellows with a stopwatch
(or watch with a second hand) to see who can "empty
that bottle" the fastest! This game is really fun!
Its a hoot watching grown men suck from a baby bottle!
-
BABY
ANIMAL NAME GAME -
Compile a list of proper names of baby animals, like
fawn, gosling, kid, etc... Use a dictionary or a kids
book; they usually have the oddest ones. And the odder
the better! Make a list of 15 to 20 names, and the
guests have to name who the mom is like goose, deer,
goat, etc... whoever has the most correct names wins!
-
CELEBRITY
BABIES - Each guest is
given a list of celebrity moms on the left, and a list
of names on the right. Match the celebrity mom to the
name of her baby/child. Ex: Madonna would by matched to
Lourdes, using only the first or first and middle names,
etc. Whomever matches the most correctly wins. Names of
celebrity's children may be found online via different
articles on many websites.
-
WHERE'S
THE NUKE - What you
need. 3 bowls filled with grits, portage or something
thick so you can't see the nuke at the bottom of the
bowls. Ask for three volunteers. With there hands behind
there back the first one to find the nuke out of the
bowl in the winner. The there's a catch!!! there's is no
Nuke! The look on the guests faces when they realize
they're hunting for nothing is priceless.
-
DID
YOU SAY BABY - Each
person is given a clothes pin at the beginning of the
shower. Everyone is then instructed not to say the word
"baby." If you slip and say "baby",
then the first person who catches you gets all of your
clothes pins. The person who has the most at the end of
the shower, or a set time (say 1 or 2 hours into the
shower), wins! This is a lot of fun! It is impossible
not to say baby at a Baby Shower!
-
WHO'S
BABY IS WHO - When I
sent out the invitations, I enclosed a self address
stamped envelope asking guests to send a baby picture of
themselves. Informing them pictures will be returned.
When I received all the pictures I color copied them. I
cut the pictures into circles and glued them to
silhouettes of pregnant ladies (die cuts from scrapbook
store). I glued them to a poster board and the guests
had to figure out everyone's baby picture. This is also
good for name tags.

BABY
ITEMS WITH A TWIST -
Purchase several baby items (diaper, bottle, pacifier,
comb etc) before shower and arrange them all on a tray.
Have the mom-to-be pass the tray around then find a
reason to excuse herself. Once she is gone the hostess
tells the guests to write down as many things as the
Mom-to-be was wearing (color outfit, hair accessories,
earrings etc). This will shock your guests because they
are expecting to write down the items. They were
probably not looking at the mom so it will be tough, but
fun.
-
THE
BAG GAME - You'll need
large paper bags (you can get them free at the grocery
store!) Give all your guest a bag and have them to place
the bag over their head. Then ask the participants to
take off something they really don't need. It may sound
boring but it is so funny when you see women taking off
rings, shoes and even clothing not thinking it's the bag
on their head that they really don't need. And of course
whomever takes off the bag first is the winner! And the
participants who still have the bag on, you continue to
ask them to take off something they really don't need,
if the participants still don't get the hint just tell
them without laughing too loud to take that silly bag
off their head (s).
-
BABY
UN-SCRAMBLER - The hostess should have this game
prepared before the guests arrive. Make a list of twenty
words all dealing with pregnancy such as bottle,
diapers, crib, stroller, etc. Give every guest one
minute to unscramble the words. Example: BRIC = CRIB.
This is a fun game to play!
-
PIN
IN THE RICE - You use a
bowl of uncooked white rice and about 50-100 small
safety pins. You have about 30-45 seconds to close your
eyes and see how many safety pins you can pick out of
the rice. Whoever has the most pins wins.
-
BABY
PRICE IS RIGHT -
Hostess buys small baby items and keeps a list of what
each item costs. Then makes a list of each item for
every guest without the prices on the guest lists.
Guests write what they think each item cost and total
all items. Closest one to the correct cost wins.
-
POTATO
GAME - Things You Need:
1 Potato - 1 Jar - Make sure the Potato can fit in the
jar. What the goal of this game is, is to drop the
Potato in the jar using your knees. You place the jar in
the middle of the room. Each person at you shower takes
a turn. The person places the potato in between there
knees and tries walking from the front of the room to
the middle, once they reach the middle they must attempt
to drop the potato in the jar. Who ever makes it wins.
If you have more the one winner they go against each
other until there is only one winner. Helpful Hint: Try
to use a potato the can barely fit in the jar.
-
MATCH
THE BABY'S SOCKS - In
the center of the room, place a pile of (separated)
10-15 pairs of baby socks (solids, patterned, and
different sizes). Each guest gets 10 seconds to match
them. The guest with most pairs of matching socks wins a
prize. (* the more patterned socks, the harder). Also,
you may want to ask each guest via their invitation to
bring in a pair of baby socks to save on party costs).
At the end, the mother-to-be takes home all the socks.
-
COTTON
BALLS - Put about 5
cotton balls in a bowl and set another bowl right next
to it. Time no more than 4 people for 1 minute. Blind
fold them and put the spoon in there hand. Set the timer
for 1 minute and let them race and whoever gets the most
cotton balls in there other bowl wins. It is so
hilarious watching them move the spoon over to the other
bowl with nothing in it.
-
BUBBLE
GUM BABIES - Pass out a
piece of pink, wrapped bubble gum to eat guest. After
each guest has chewed their piece, set the timer for 1
minute and see who can form the best bubble gum baby
with their gum.
-
FIRST
BABY BORN - Buy small
plastic babies, freeze them in ice cube trays. The first
guest to have a baby born, wins.
-
PUZZLE
GAME - Hostess buys several of the wooden tray
puzzles - all should have the same number of pieces.
Several guests each turn the puzzles over and mix the
pieces. Hostess says "Go" and guests race to
see who can complete their puzzle first. The winner goes
on to the next round. Continue rounds until a final
winner is crowned. The guest receives a prize; the new
Mom receives the puzzles for baby's toy box.
-
BABY
BINGO - Make up blank
bingo cards with a cute baby sticker in the middle or
"free" spot. (You can print them up on paper
decorated with a baby theme.) Have the guests fill in
the squares with the names of baby items that the
"new mom" might be receiving when she opens
her gifts. Then when the gifts are opened the guests
"X" off the gifts that match their squares and
yell "Baby Bingo" when they fill in a straight
or a diagonal line.
